CSL Selection Process
Selection is entirely through a Practical Test (100 marks):
Candidates are required to prepare a drawing using CAD software, held at CSL, Kochi.
Minimum pass marks:
- Unreserved & EWS candidates: 50% of total marks
- OBC candidates: 45% of total marks (for OBC-reserved vacancies only)
- SC/ST candidates: 40% of total marks (for SC/ST-reserved vacancies only)
CSL may shortlist candidates for the Practical Test based on eligibility as per uploaded certificates, if a large number of applications are received.
Selection is subject to Certificate Verification (age, qualification, reservation category, etc.) — original certificates with self-attested copies must be produced; only those who clear certificate verification are permitted to attend the Practical Test.
CSL may relax the minimum pass mark if the number of qualified candidates is insufficient.
A rank list is prepared discipline-wise, based on marks secured by candidates who pass the Practical Test. In case of a tie, seniority in age is the tie-breaker.
