SCI Junior Court Assistant Vacancy 2026
The Supreme Court has announced 250 tentative vacancies for the Junior Court Assistant post, filled through a selection panel. The Registry may change the number of posts due to administrative needs, with the approval of the Competent Authority. Reservation follows Rule 4A of the Supreme Court Officers and Servants (Conditions of Service and Conduct) Rules, 1961.
Supreme Court JCA Salary 2026
SCI JCA is placed in Level 6 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with an initial basic pay of Rs. 35,400 per month. On top of basic pay, selected candidates receive Dearness Allowance, HRA and other allowances admissible to central government employees in Delhi, which makes the gross monthly salary considerably higher than the basic pay.

SCI JCA Selection Process 2026
The Supreme Court JCA selection has four stages, and candidates must clear each one to move ahead:
- Objective Type Test (MCQ)
- Typing Speed Test on Computer (English)
- Written Test (Descriptive, English)
- Interview
If many candidates clear the Objective Test, those in the ratio of 1:10 against vacancies are shortlisted for the Typing and Descriptive Tests. The Descriptive paper is evaluated only for those who pass the Typing Test. Candidates who clear all three tests are called for interview in the ratio of 1:3.

Descriptive Test
The 2-hour English Descriptive paper covers a comprehension passage, precis writing and essay writing.
Typing Test Rules
Candidates may make mistakes up to 3% of the total words typed. A wrong word or figure counts as a full mistake. A wrong capital/small letter or an omitted, added or substituted punctuation mark counts as half a mistake.

- Click the Junior Court Assistant 2026 online application link (active from 7 October 2026).
- Register with a valid personal email ID and mobile number, and keep both active through the whole process.
- Fill in your details exactly as they appear on your Class 10 certificate.
- Choose your preferred exam cities in order of preference.
- Upload your photograph, signature and required documents.
- Pay the application fee online through the UCO Bank gateway.
- Preview, submit and print the application form for your records, and note your Application Number.
An application cannot be withdrawn or edited once submitted. If you submit more than one form, only the one with the latest Application Number will be considered. The printout need not be sent to the Registry.

SCI JCA Exam Centres 2026
The Objective Type Test will be held in 131 cities across India, listed in Annexure-A of the notification. The Typing Test and Descriptive Test will be held only in Delhi/NCR, and the interview will be held online or in person in Delhi.
Candidates from West Bengal can choose Asansol, Burdwan, Kalyani, Kolkata and Siliguri. Other major centres include Patna, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar/Cuttack, Guwahati, Lucknow, Jaipur, Mohali, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar and Bhopal. No TA/DA is paid for attending any test or the interview, and requests to change the city or date are not entertained.
Facilities for Persons with Disabilities
PwD candidates can use a scribe by submitting the proforma in Annexure-I or Annexure-IA, along with supporting certificates. The scribe’s qualification must be two to three academic years below the minimum qualification for the exam. Compensatory time will be given as admissible.
