General Scholarship (After Class 12th/Diploma)

Special Scholarship (After Class 10th)

Duration: The scholarship is provided for the entire duration of the course (excluding internship/stipendiary periods), subject to renewal eligibility.

LIC GJF Scholarship Payment Schedule 2026

• 1st Instalment: Due on September 1, 2026 (upon selection)

LIC GJF Scholarship Renewal Conditions 2026

Important: Candidates who pass any subject with Grace Marks, or clear a failed subject in a subsequent semester, become ineligible for continued scholarship — even if they meet the minimum percentage/CGPA otherwise. Exceptions may be considered on sympathetic grounds for candidates unable to appear for exams due to extreme circumstances, subject to formal representation and verification.

Other Important Rules

• As a rule, only one scholarship per family; this may be relaxed to allow two if the second applicant is female, or both applicants are female. In a tie involving a male and female candidate from the same family, the female candidate is preferred.
• Regular class attendance (as per the institution’s criteria) is required to maintain the scholarship.
• An Income Certificate from a competent Revenue Authority (Tehsildar, District Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner, Collector, Revenue Circle Officer, SDM, Panchayat/Municipal officials, etc.) stating annual gross parental income (including agricultural income) for the preceding financial year is mandatory. Certificates issued earlier but valid for the previous financial year are acceptable.
• Claims for arrears submitted more than 12 months after the end of the relevant academic year will not be accepted.
• Violation of terms may lead to suspension or cancellation of the scholarship; obtaining a scholarship through false statements/certificates leads to cancellation and recovery of the amount paid.

Selection Process 2026

1. Online LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme applications are automatically routed to one of LIC’s 112 Divisional Offices based on the applicant’s address PIN code.
2. Applicants with parental income between Rs. 0 – Rs. 4,50,000 are ranked strictly by academic merit within each Division.
3. Each Division selects: 20 Boys + 20 Girls for Special Scholarship, and 40 Boys + 40 Girls for General Scholarship (slots interchangeable within category if needed).
4. If some Divisions have unfilled slots, vacant slots are pooled centrally and allotted to Divisions with waiting lists, based on centralised ranking, up to the overall cap.
5. Selected candidates are informed via email.
6. Physical document verification is conducted by Divisional officials to authenticate marks and income (copies authenticated by any LIC Branch In-Charge are acceptable).
7. Scholarship amount is credited to the verified bank account via NEFT.

The Zone of Selection is the LIC Divisional area, and the Senior Divisional Manager In-Charge of the Divisional Office is the Competent Authority for final selection approval. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Executive Committee of GJF is final and binding.
