Canara Bank Apprentice New Notification 2026-27 Out
Candidates who have completed graduation in any discipline between 01.01.2023 and 01.09.2026 can apply for the Canara Bank Graduate Apprentice posts. Canara Bank is a leading Public Sector Bank with its Head Office in Bengaluru and over 10,000 branches. Selected candidates will get one year of On-the-Job Training at select branches of the bank along with a monthly stipend of Rs 16,650.
Before applying on the bank’s website, candidates must register on the apprenticeship portal nats.education.gov.in. Only candidates with a 100% complete profile on the NATS portal are eligible to apply. No other mode of application will be accepted.
The biggest highlight of this recruitment is that there is no written exam. Selection will be made on the basis of a state-wise merit list prepared from marks obtained in Class 12th (HSC/10+2) or Diploma, followed by Document Verification, a local language test and medical fitness.

What is Canara Bank Graduate Apprentice?
A Graduate Apprentice at Canara Bank is a fresh graduate engaged for one year of practical On-the-Job Training (OJT) at select bank branches under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Apprentices gain hands-on exposure to banking operations and work during the hours applicable to the bank’s clerical cadre.
Apprentices are not treated as employees of Canara Bank and are not entitled to employee benefits such as PF, ESI or bonus. The bank also has no obligation to offer regular employment after the training ends. On completion, apprentices receive a NATS joint certificate, which adds value to their resume for future banking exams and private sector jobs.
Canara Bank Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026
All eligibility conditions (age, qualification, etc.) will be calculated as on 1st September 2026.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. The graduation must have been passed not earlier than 01.01.2023 and not later than 01.09.2026.
Canara Bank Apprentice Age Limit
The minimum age is 20 years and the maximum age is 28 years. Candidates must have been born between 02.09.1998 and 01.09.2006 (both days inclusive).

Other Eligibility Conditions
Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training with Canara Bank or any other organization are not eligible. Candidates with one year or more of training or job experience after completing their qualification are also not eligible. Ex-Servicemen are not eligible for engagement as apprentices, and there is no reservation for them.
Test of Local Language
Candidates who have studied the opted local language in Class 10th or 12th (with mark sheet/certificate as proof) are exempt from the local language test. Others will have to clear the test during Document Verification. Candidates who fail this test will not be engaged.

Canara Bank Apprentice Selection Process 2026
There is no written exam for Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026. The selection process includes:
Merit List: A state-wise merit list will be prepared in descending order based on the percentage of marks obtained in 12th Std (HSC/10+2) or Diploma. If two or more candidates have the same percentage, the older candidate will be ranked higher.
Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) in 12th/Diploma. Fractions are ignored, so 59.99% will be treated as below 60%. Candidates with CGPA must convert it to a percentage and produce a certificate from the Board/University regarding the conversion norms.
Document Verification & Local Language Test: Shortlisted candidates will have their documents verified, and the local language test will be conducted at the same stage.
Medical Fitness: Final engagement depends on the candidate being declared medically fit as per the bank’s requirements.
Canara Bank Apprentice Stipend 2026
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 16,650 during the 12-month training period.
