BTSC Fisheries Extension Officer Reservation Rules 2026
The benefit of reservation is available only to permanent residents (domicile) of Bihar. Candidates from outside Bihar will be treated as Unreserved. The permanent address filled in the online form will be considered for reservation purposes.
- SC/ST candidates must submit a Caste Certificate and a Permanent Residence/Domicile Certificate.
- BC/EBC candidates must submit a Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (for Bihar Government purposes) and a Domicile Certificate. A caste certificate alone will not be accepted.
- EWS candidates must submit an Income and Asset Certificate and a Domicile Certificate. The Income and Asset Certificate is valid for one year from the date of issue.
- Women candidates must have caste/non-creamy layer certificates issued in their father’s name and address.
- PwD candidates must submit a disability certificate from a duly constituted Medical Board in the prescribed format. Disability claims may be re-examined by a Medical Board at the Commission level. Candidates with 40% or more benchmark disability can request a scribe.
- Grandchildren of Freedom Fighters get 2% horizontal reservation and must submit a certificate signed by the District Magistrate of their home district in the prescribed format.
- Transgender candidates will get the reservation benefits available to Backward Classes.
The reservation category cannot be changed after registration.

BTSC Fisheries Extension Officer CBT Marks Calculation
The percentage scored in the CBT will be multiplied by 0.75. For example, if a candidate scores 60% in the CBT, they will get 60 × 0.75 = 45 marks out of 75.
BTSC Fisheries Extension Officer Experience Weightage
Candidates who have worked satisfactorily on a contractual basis on the same post in Bihar Government or non-private institutions within Bihar (Central Government, Panchayat, Urban Bodies etc.) will get 5 marks per year of service, up to a maximum of 25 marks. Proportionate marks will be given for a part of a year. Experience will be counted up to 24th September 2026 and will be considered only for candidates who qualify the CBT. The Salary Payment Certificate must be issued by the Director Fisheries / Deputy Director Fisheries (Division) / District Fisheries Officer-cum-Chief Executive Officer in the Appendix-I format only.
