Age Limit

The age limit for DMMU Birbhum Mentor Recruitment 2026 is 25 to 45 years as on 01.01.2026.

Educational and Technical Qualification

  • Education: Graduate or above from a recognised university
  • Computer: Diploma or above in Computer Application

Who Can Apply

The following candidates can apply for DMMU Birbhum Mentor Recruitment 2026:

  • Ex-bankers and empanelled BRPs from public or private sector banks with 5–7 years of field experience in micro or small enterprise lending in rural areas
  • Empanelled block/district level trainers (BLTs/DLTs), Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants, MBAs and graduates who understand how banks handle micro-enterprise loans
  • Active women SHG members who have been in an SHG for the last 3 years in the same block, counted from the date of the notice

DMMU Birbhum Mentor Honorarium

Mentors selected through DMMU Birbhum Mentor Recruitment 2026 are paid as per the WBSRLM guideline (Memo No. 817/PRD-15098/1/2023-DRLM dated 05.07.2024). Pay has a fixed part and a work-based part:

  • Fixed honorarium: up to ₹7,000 per month, based on the daily work done report. The district decides the actual amount depending on satisfactory work.
  • Loan application submitted to a bank: ₹300 per application
  • Loan disbursed or sanctioned: ₹300 per disbursement or sanction note
  • Timely repayment: ₹100 per loan account per quarter, for the first 4 quarters after the moratorium period

Stationery is provided by DMMU/SRLM, but no separate payment is made for travel or internet. Mentors raise a monthly bill with proof of work, and the district pays after checking it.

Selection Process

Selection in DMMU Birbhum Mentor Recruitment 2026 is based on a 100-mark process:

  1. Written Test (MCQ) – 60 marks: General Knowledge, Class 10 level English and Maths, Reasoning, Current Affairs and NRLM concepts
  2. Computer Test – 30 marks: MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  3. Personal Interview – 10 marks

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the computer test or interview.

After selection, mentors must complete at least 3 days of training on Enterprise Finance. Only those who score at least 80 out of 100 in the post-training quiz will work as mentors.

    Mentor Job Role and Responsibilities

    A mentor selected under DMMU Birbhum Mentor Recruitment 2026 works closely with Vitta Sakhis, the community cadre who help women SHG members get bank loans above ₹75,000. One mentor usually supports 7–10 Vitta Sakhis.

    Main duties:

    • Guide Vitta Sakhis at every step: selecting entrepreneurs, preparing documents, loan disbursement, collection and business monitoring
    • Use the Excel tool to estimate the maximum bank loan limit from data collected by Vitta Sakhis, and prepare loan applications for banks
    • Submit loan applications to bank branches and collect sanction and disbursement status
    • Talk to banks if an application gets stuck, and help rectify and resubmit rejected applications
    • Visit a sample of entrepreneurs, and visit again if there are problems with fund use or repayment
    • Keep the Block office and Sangha informed about loan disbursements
    • Prepare a list of model business activities for the area and share information on useful government schemes
    • Build the confidence of Vitta Sakhis so they can work independently within 18–24 months

    Termination: The engagement can be ended for non-performance, rude behaviour, misconduct or any other unsatisfactory conduct.
