CSL Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has officially released the notification for engagement of Graduate and Technician (Diploma) Apprentices under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973. Under Reference No. CSL/P&A/APPE/SEL. DESIGNTD/DEGREE_DIPLOMA_2023_2024/2023/4 dated 12 Aug 2026, a total of 139 training seats are available across Graduate and Diploma disciplines. Online registration of application will run from 12.08.2026 to 01.09.2026.

CSL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Overview

CSL invites online applications from eligible Graduate holders in Engineering, Diploma holders in Engineering, and Diploma holders in Commercial Practice, who are domicile of Kerala and have passed during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 & 2026, for undergoing one year of Apprenticeship training. Candidates seeking apprenticeship training in a premier Government shipbuilding company should carefully verify all eligibility conditions, discipline-wise seat distribution, and document requirements before applying online.

Age Limit

Candidates must be above 18 years old as on 01.09.2026 to be eligible for CSL Apprentice Recruitment 2026.

Minimum Educational Qualifications

Category – I: Graduate Apprentices

• A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University in the relevant discipline.
• A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an Institution empowered to grant such a degree by an Act of Parliament in the relevant discipline.
• Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to the above.
• Where a University/Institute/Examination Board does not define criteria for conversion of Aggregate Grade Points (CGPA/OGPA/CPI) into a Class and/or percentage of marks, the Aggregate Grade Points shall be multiplied by 10 to arrive at the required percentage of marks.

Category – II: Technician (Diploma) Apprentices

For Sl.No. 1 to 6 (Engineering disciplines):

• A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government in the relevant discipline.
• A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a University in the relevant discipline.
• A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to the above.

For Sl.No. 7 (Commercial Practice):

• A Diploma in Commercial Practice granted by an Institution recognized by the State Government or Central Government.

Reservation of Vacancies

Government of India directives on reservation applicable for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) will be strictly followed.

Minimum Physical Standards

As prescribed under Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules 1992, and amendments thereof, if any.

Previous Training

Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973 in any Government, Public Sector, or Private Organisation are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

CSL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

1. Only candidates who are domicile of Kerala shall be considered. Shortlisting is done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification applicable to the respective discipline. In case of a tie, relative merit is decided based on seniority in the passing year, and if that is also identical, precedence is given to the candidate senior in age (by date of birth).
2. Shortlisted candidates for certificate verification must bring original certificates as proof of age, qualification, percentage of marks, caste, and disability (if any), along with self-attested copies for verification. Failure to produce original certificates will result in rejection of candidature.
3. Candidates who successfully complete certificate verification shall be provisionally considered for selection against the notified training seats in order of merit/reservation, subject to medical fitness.

Travel Expenses & Boarding/Lodging

• Travel Expenses: No travel expenses are admissible during the apprenticeship training period.
• Boarding/Lodging: Boarding or lodging will not be provided by CSL during the apprenticeship training period.

How to Apply for CSL Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Applications must be submitted through the portal nats.education.gov.in.

For Students Already Registered on the Old Apprentice Portal (portal.mhrdnats.gov.in)

Step 1:

1. Activate the account on https://nats.education.gov.in using the “Forgot Password” option at the student login page.
2. Log in and complete the application form, ensuring all details are correct.

Step 2 (after account activation / new portal migration):

1. Log in.
2. Search “COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED” under “Apply against advertised vacancies.”
3. Click Apply (status will show as “Applied”).

For Students Not Registered on the Old Apprentice Portal

Step 1:

1. Go to https://nats.education.gov.in.
2. Click Student.
3. Click Student Register.
4. Complete the application form.
5. A unique Enrolment Number will be generated for each student.

Step 2 (for applying):

1. Log in.
2. Search “COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED” under “Apply against advertised vacancies.”
3. Click Apply (status will show as “Applied”).
