Eligibility Criteria for Indian Space Research Organisation Recruitment 2026

The candidates who wish to apply for ISRO Recruitment 2026 need to satisfy the eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification and age limit.

Educational Qualification

For Assistant/Upper Division Clerk (Post No. 1, 3 & 5):

  • Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale from a recognized University, completed within the stipulated course duration; AND
  • Proficiency in the use of Computers.

For Junior Personal Assistant/Stenographer (Post No. 2, 4 & 6):

  • Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks/CGPA of 6.32 (10-point scale) from a recognized University OR Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with the same minimum marks/CGPA; AND
  • One year of experience as Steno-Typist/Stenographer; AND
  • A minimum speed of 60 words per minute in English Stenography; AND
  • Proficiency in the use of Computers.

Note: For DCP/DCCP diploma holders, the Apprenticeship Training Certificate issued by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) will be considered equivalent to one year of Steno-Typist/Stenographer experience.

ISRO Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

All candidates are initially required to pay a uniform processing fee of Rs. 500/- per application. Of this, Rs. 100/- is the non-refundable application fee, and the balance (processing fee) is refunded only to candidates who appear in the Written Test/CBT.

ISRO Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection for Assistant/JPA/UDC/Stenographer posts is a two-stage process:

  1. Written Test (Objective type, 150 minutes) — Single objective-type paper with +1 mark for correct and -0.25 mark for wrong answer.
  2. Skill Test — Computer Literacy Test (for all posts) and additionally a Stenography Test (for JPA/Stenographer posts).

Skill Test Details

  • Computer Literacy Test: Covers MS Word (35 marks), MS Excel (35 marks), MS PowerPoint (30 marks); Duration: 75 minutes.
  • Stenography Test (JPA/Steno only): Shorthand dictation of 300 words @ 60 wpm (5 minutes), followed by transcription on computer (30 minutes). Dictation must be in Pitman’s shorthand.

ISRO Recruitment 2026 Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed as Assistant/Junior Personal Assistant/Upper Division Clerk/Stenographer in Level 4 of the Pay Matrix, with a minimum basic pay of Rs. 25,500/- per month, plus Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Transport Allowance as per rules. Employees will be covered under the New Pension Scheme, along with medical facilities, subsidised canteen, limited housing facility, Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, House Building Advance, etc., as per Central Government orders.
