- GAIL Short Notification Release Date: 01st September 2026
- Opening of GAIL Online Application: 17th February 2027 from 11:00 Hrs onwards
- Last Date for Submission of Online Application in GAIL: 18th March 2027 till 18:00 Hrs

GAIL Executive Trainee Eligibility 2027 – Explained in Simple Words
This is the most important section. GAIL has strict rules this year.
1. Who Can Apply? Year of Passing Criteria [Clause 2.9 to 2.13]
This is NEW and very strict.
- Eligible: Candidates who completed B.E/B.Tech in Year 2026 ONLY OR Candidates who are currently in Final Year 2026-27.
- NOT Eligible: Candidates who completed degree in 2025 or earlier are NOT eligible to apply. [Clause 2.13]
Many students are confused – Yes, 2024, 2023 passouts cannot apply for GAIL ET 2027.
2. Minimum Percentage Required
- General / EWS / OBC(NCL): Minimum 65% marks in aggregate
- SC / ST / PwBD: Minimum 60% marks [5% relaxation]
- No Rounding Off: 64.99% will NOT be considered as 65%. University rules will be followed for CGPA conversion.
- For Final Year Students: You must have 65% (60% for reserved) till last semester/year exam at the time of applying. Final degree with 65% must be submitted by 31st August 2027 otherwise candidature will be cancelled.
3. Course Type
Only Full Time Regular courses from UGC recognized Indian University / AICTE approved Autonomous Institutions will be considered. Part-time / Distance education is not allowed.

- Pay Scale: Rs. 60,000 – 1,80,000 (E-2 Grade) for Executive Trainee

GAIL Selection Process Through GATE 2027
Stage 1: GATE-2027 Score: You must first register and appear in GATE-2027 in relevant paper (CH/IN/EE/ME). GAIL will shortlist candidates based on GATE-2027 marks and organizational requirement. GATE 2026 or earlier marks are NOT valid.
Stage 2: Further Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview and Pre-Employment Medical Examination.
- Final Merit will be based on GATE-2027 marks + GD/Interview.
- Appointment is subject to being Medically Fit as per GAIL Medical Standards in Central/State Govt Hospital or GAIL empanelled hospitals.

Step 1: First register for GATE-2027 at https://gate2027.iitm.ac.in/ in your relevant paper.
Step 2: Download your GATE-2027 Admit Card. Note your GATE Registration Number.
Step 3: On 17th Feb 2027, visit GAIL website https://gailonline.com -> Careers Section.
Step 4: Click on “Apply Online for Executive Trainee 2027 through GATE-2027” and enter your GATE Registration Number.
Step 5: Fill academic, personal details, upload documents and submit.
Step 6: Keep printout of application for Interview.
Documents Required at Interview: Degree Certificate, All Semester Marksheets, CGPA conversion certificate, Caste Certificate [SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS in GOI format], PwBD Certificate in format G.S.R. 591(E) dated 15.06.2017, Income & Asset Certificate for EWS valid for FY 2026-27.
