Key Features of the DAV Exam Pattern
- No negative marking. Attempting every question carries no risk, so do not leave any blank.
- Paper 1 is common to all posts. It tests verbal and non-verbal reasoning in English.
- Paper 2 is post-specific. A PGT Physics candidate gets Physics questions, and an LDC (Accounts) candidate gets questions related to that post.
- Language papers are in their own medium. Paper 2 for Hindi, Sanskrit and regional languages (Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, etc.) is set in that language. All other papers are in English.

DAV Exam Pattern for Non-Teaching Posts
Non-teaching and ministerial candidates take the same two-paper CBT structure:
- Paper 1: the common reasoning paper.
- Paper 2: questions based on the post applied for.
For example, an LDC (Accounts) candidate should expect questions on accounts and office work. A Lab Assistant (Chemistry) candidate should expect chemistry lab-related questions. A Nurse candidate should expect nursing-related questions.

DAV Selection Process: The Three-Phase Recruitment Process
DAV recruitment follows an official three-phase process. Clearing the CBT alone does not get you a job. It only makes you eligible for school-level interviews.
Phase 1: Registration, Verification and Fee Payment
- Advertisement (16–22 September 2026). Zones and schools advertise vacant posts in national and regional newspapers.
- Online registration (16 September – 08 October 2026). Candidates fill the centralised online form and submit it as “Form Ready for Verification.” This is a partial submission, and the form stays editable.
- Verification (25 September – 16 October 2026). Candidates visit the nearest verification centre (a DAV school) with a printout of the form and original testimonials. The centre checks their career graph and eligibility. Once the form is marked “Verified and Approved for Payment,” it is locked.
- Fee payment (within 7 days of approval). Candidates pay ₹300 online. Only candidates who have paid become eligible for the CBT.
Phase 2: Admit Card and CBT

Mandatory Documents
Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre without the following:
- A printed (hard copy) admit card
- One recent, coloured passport-size photograph

Prohibited Items
The following items are not allowed inside the exam centre:
