Age Limit
- Candidates born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply
- If a candidate clears all stages of the selection procedure, the upper age limit as on the date of enrolment should be 22 years
Marital Status
- Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for enrolment as Agniveervayu Non-Combatant
- Candidates must give an undertaking not to marry during the four-year engagement period
- Agniveervayu Non-Combatant who marry during this period shall be dismissed from service
- Only unmarried Agniveervayu Non-Combatant will be eligible for further selection into the regular cadre as NC(E)

General Disqualifications
- NDPS: Consumption, possession, storage, or distribution of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances is a rejection/dismissal criterion. IAF follows a zero-tolerance policy on alcoholism and substance abuse
- Body Tattoos: Permanent tattoos are not permitted, except on the inner forearm (elbow to wrist), the back/reverse of the hand, and tribal tattoos as per custom. Offensive, obscene, or racist tattoos are prohibited anywhere on the body; acceptability rests with the Selection Centre
- Sikh Candidates: Only Sikh candidates whose religion prohibits hair-cutting/shaving may retain hair, beard, and moustache, and must submit photographs accordingly
IAF Agniveervayu Non-Combatant Job Profile 2027
Selected candidates will be required to perform specific duties assigned in organisational interest, under either of the following streams:
Hospitality Stream
Tasks associated with cooking, kitchen management, presentation of dishes, maintaining a sanitised kitchen environment, safe storage of food, handling crockery/cutlery/refrigeration, laying tables/chairs, and serving food and water.
Housekeeping Stream
Tasks associated with cleaning floors/rooms/bathrooms, making brooms, grass-cutting, ground levelling, watering gardens, washing utensils/clothes, filling and carrying water, and handling office equipment. Additionally, hair-cutting, shaving, head massage, ironing, leather stitching/repair, shoe polishing, and cloth cutting/stitching/alteration tasks.

IAF Agniveervayu Non-Combatant Terms & Conditions 2027
- Enrolled under the Air Force Act 1950 for a period of 4 years, forming a distinct rank in the IAF
- IAF is not obliged to retain Agniveervayu Non-Combatant beyond the 4-year engagement
- On completion of 4 years, based on organisational requirements, candidates may apply for permanent enrolment as NC(E); up to 25% of each batch may be enrolled in the regular cadre, based on objective/performance criteria, at IAF’s discretion
- Employability: Liable to be assigned Hospitality or Housekeeping duties at IAF’s discretion
- Training: Job-specific training will be imparted as per the allotted stream
- Leave: 30 days Annual Leave per year; Sick Leave based on medical advice
- Not eligible for voluntary release before completing the engagement period, except in exceptional cases with Competent Authority approval
- Not eligible for Ex-Servicemen status after discharge on completion of the 4-year engagement
- Permitted to appear in all Defence Forces commissioning examinations (maximum 5 attempts) during the engagement period, subject to conditions
IAF Agniveervayu Non-Combatant Salary & Benefits 2027
Candidates enrolled under this scheme will be paid an Agniveer package of ₹30,000/- per month with a fixed yearly increment, along with Risk and Hardship allowances, Dress and Travel allowances, and perks such as ration, clothing, accommodation, and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) as per existing rules.

IAF Agniveervayu Non-Combatant Selection Process 2027
The selection process is conducted in four phases.
Phase I: Written Test
Common for both streams. Subject-wise marks distribution:

Phase II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Only candidates who qualify the Written Test are permitted to appear.
Height Check: Minimum 152 cms; candidates below this are disqualified
PFT-I: 1.6 km run to be completed within 7 minutes (relaxations for high-altitude areas: +30 sec for 5,001–9,000 ft, +120 sec for 9,001–12,000 ft)
PFT-II: To be completed within 1 minute each, with breaks in between:
- 10 Push-ups
- 10 Sit-ups (after a 2-minute break)
- 20 Squats (after a 2-minute break)
Phase III: Stream Suitability Test (SST)
Qualifying in nature. Candidates must show willingness and aptitude for tasks specific to their chosen stream:
- Hospitality: Cutting meat/vegetables/fish, handling kitchen equipment, dish preparation and presentation, hygiene knowledge, serving food/beverages, personal cleanliness, and fire/safety awareness in the kitchen
- Housekeeping: Sweeping/cleaning floors and bathrooms, cutting grass, watering gardens, digging trenches, washing utensils, plus at least one of: washing/ironing clothes, hair-cutting/dressing, leather stitching (mochi work), or tailoring/pattern-cutting skills
Unwillingness to perform any task specific to the stream will lead to disqualification in SST.
Phase IV: Medical Examination
Conducted by the Air Force Medical team as per IAF medical standards, including:
- Blood Haemogram (Hb, TLC, DLC, Platelets)
- Urine RE/ME
- Biochemistry: Blood Sugar (Fasting & PP), Serum Cholesterol, RFT (Urea, Uric Acid, Creatinine), LFT (Bilirubin, SGOT/SGPT)
- Radiograph Chest (PA View)
- ECG (Resting)
- Any other investigation deemed necessary by the Recruiting Medical Officer
Candidates should be prepared to stay 4–5 days at their own arrangement for the medical test; no TA/DA is admissible. Passing the medical examination does not guarantee employment in the IAF.
