What is Eligibility Criteria for ERD Punjab PTI Recruitment 2026?
ERD Punjab PTI Recruitment Eligibility includes all the important details like educational qualifications, age limit etc., as per the Punjab State Elementary Education (Physical Training Instructor) Service Rules, 2023, and the First Amendment Rules, 2025. Only candidates meeting these standards can apply.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have done 10+2 qualification with at least two years’ diploma or certificate in Physical Education (D.P.Ed/C.P.Ed), or an equivalent course under any other nomenclature.
Candidates who are in the final year of their D.P.Ed/C.P.Ed diploma or certificate course are also eligible to apply, provided they pass the diploma before the last date fixed for the final recruitment merit (i.e., before the date fixed for the written exam of this recruitment).
Physical Eligibility Test (Qualifying)
The Physical Eligibility Test is qualifying in nature and comprises five components. A candidate must successfully complete three out of the five components to qualify.

What is the ERD Punjab Selection Process 2026?
Selection for the PTI Primary Cadre post comprises a State-level written test (Objective Multiple Choice) of 70 marks in the concerned subject, combined with sports achievement weightage of 30 marks based on gradation certificates, taking the total to 100 marks.

Punjabi Language Requirement
As per Government notification dated 28.10.2022, candidates must pass a qualifying test of Punjabi Language equivalent to Matriculation standard with at least 50% marks. Failure to secure 50% in Punjabi will disqualify the candidate from the final merit list, irrespective of other scores.

Selected candidates will be placed on a probation period of 3 years and paid a fixed salary as per the Punjab State Elementary Education (PTI) Service Rules, 2023 and the First Amendment Rules, 2025.
