NTPC Executive Trainee Recruitment 2027 – Branch Wise Details [Advt 11/26]
NTPC has announced vacancies in 6 Engineering Disciplines. This is more than NSPCL and GAIL.

NTPC Executive Trainee Eligibility Criteria 2027 – Expected
NTPC has released only short notice till now. Detailed eligibility will come in 2027. Based on NTPC EET 2024 and 2025 advertisement and current GAIL/NSPCL notification, expected eligibility is:
1. Educational Qualification
Full Time Regular Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (B.E/B.Tech) in relevant branch from recognized Indian University/Institute approved by AICTE/UGC.
Minimum Percentage:
- General / EWS / OBC (NCL): 65% marks in aggregate of all semesters
- SC / ST / PwBD: 55% marks (As per previous NTPC trend – GAIL asks 60%, NTPC usually asks 55% for reserved)
- Final year / 8th semester students can also apply if they have 65% till 7th semester.
AMIE candidates with 65% may be eligible – will be confirmed in detailed advt.
2. Age Limit – Expected
As per NTPC previous year trend:
Upper Age Limit: 27 Years as on last date of online application in 2027
Age Relaxation:
- OBC (NCL): 3 Years
- SC / ST: 5 Years
- PwBD: 10 Years additional
- Ex-Servicemen & J&K Domicile: As per Govt. of India rules
Final age limit will be confirmed in detailed advertisement of 2027.
3. Year of Passing – Important Update
Unlike GAIL which allows only 2026 passouts, NTPC usually allows all eligible graduates irrespective of year of passing. In NTPC EET 2024, candidates with valid degree were allowed. So 2024, 2025, 2026 passouts are expected to be eligible for NTPC EET 2027. We will update after detailed advt.
NTPC Executive Trainee Salary, Bond and Career Growth
NTPC offers the highest salary among all PSUs for Executive Trainees.
- Pay Scale During Training: Rs. 40,000 – 1,40,000 (E-0 / E-1 Grade) – Basic Rs. 40,000/-
- After Training – Assistant Manager: Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000 (E-2 Grade) – Basic Rs. 50,000/-
- CTC During Training: Approx Rs. 12-13 Lakh per annum
- CTC After Absorption: Approx Rs. 18-20 Lakh per annum
- Other Benefits: DA (Currently ~46%), HRA, Medical for self & family, PRP (Performance Related Pay), Gratuity, PF, Superannuation Benefit Fund (30% of basic), Laptop, Mobile reimbursement.
- Training Period: 1 Year at NTPC Power Management Institute (PMI), Noida
- Bond: Rs. 2,50,000 for General/OBC/EWS and Rs. 1,25,000 for SC/ST/PwBD for 3 years (As per previous year). Bond amount may be updated in 2027.

NTPC EET Selection Process Through GATE 2027
As per Advt No. 11/26, selection of NTPC Executive Traine will be based on:
Step 1: GATE-2027 Score – 100% Weightage for Shortlisting
Candidates will be shortlisted based on GATE-2027 performance and organizational requirement. Merit will be prepared discipline-wise.
Step 2: Documents Verification
Step 3: Behavioral Discussion / GD / Personal Interview [As per last year pattern – NTPC calls it Executive Trainee Assessment]
Step 4: Medical Examination
Candidates must be medically fit as per NTPC Medical standards at NTPC hospitals.
Final Selection: Combined score of GATE-2027 + Interview + GD. Previous year ratio was 85% GATE + 5% GD + 10% Interview.

- NSPCL (NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited) is Joint Venture of NTPC & SAIL – Advt 02/2026 – Only 4 branches ME/EE/EC/IN – Operates power plants at Bhilai, Durgapur, Rourkela – 1119 MW capacity – Salary slightly less than NTPC but same facilities.
