CSIR-NEERI Application Fee 2026
The fee has to be paid online through the State Bank Collect link available on the official website. The downloaded e-receipt must be uploaded in the portal for the application to be treated as complete.

Applications without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected in the non-exempted categories, and no representation against such rejection will be entertained. Fee-exempt candidates must upload the relevant document supporting their claim.
Steps to Submit CSIR-NEERI Recruitment Online Form 2026
Candidates must complete the process in three stages: Registration, Filling the Application, and Payment & Final Submission. The detailed steps are explained below.
Stage 1: Registration
- Visit the official portal at http://career.neeri.res.in or www.neeri.res.in.
- Register using your name, a valid email ID and a mobile number.
- Candidates who do not have a valid email ID should create one before applying and keep it active throughout the recruitment process.
- After successful registration, log in with the generated credentials.
Stage 2: Filling the Online Application
- Fill in Name, Date of Birth and Father’s/Mother’s name exactly as they appear on the SSC/Matriculation/10th Standard certificate.
- Enter qualification details, percentage of marks, and experience (if any). Candidates holding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA/DGPA/CPI grades must convert them to percentage using their university’s formula and upload a copy of that conversion formula.
- Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph and signature in JPEG format (max 50 KB each).
- Upload all supporting certificates in PDF format (max 1 MB each) at the specified places.
- Verify or edit the draft application to make sure every detail is accurate and complete.
Stage 3: Payment of Application Fee & Final Submission
- Pay Rs. 500/- through the State Bank Collect link available on the website (wherever applicable).
- Download the SBI Collect e-receipt and upload it in the portal.
- Click ‘Submit’ on the draft application and update the payment details to complete the submission.
- Once submitted, no modification, amendment, correction or change in the application form will be permitted.
- Take a print-out of the submitted application and payment details before 5:00 PM on 15 October 2026, sign it, attach self-attested documents, and retain it for future reference.
What After the CSIR-NEERI Application?
After the application window closes, candidates should regularly check the official website for updates regarding:

Age Relaxation for CSIR-NEERI Recruitment 2026
The upper age limit of 28 years (TA) and 30 years (TO) is calculated as on 15 October 2026. Relaxation is available as follows:

SC/ST/OBC (NCL) candidates applying against Unreserved posts are treated at par with UR candidates and do not get age relaxation, though SC/ST candidates remain exempt from the application fee.
CSIR-NEERI Selection Process 2026
The selection for both Technical Assistant and Technical Officer follows the same broad structure:
Screening – Applications are scrutinised by a Screening Committee constituted by the Director, CSIR-NEERI, which adopts its own criteria for shortlisting. Mere possession of the minimum qualification does not entitle a candidate to be called for the Trade Test.
Trade Test – Conducted in the relevant area/discipline and is qualifying in nature. Date and venue will be notified separately.
Written Examination – Candidates qualifying the Trade Test appear for a three-paper competitive written examination. Paper-II and Paper-III will be evaluated only for those who secure the minimum threshold marks in Paper-I.
Final Merit List – Prepared solely on the basis of performance in Paper-II and Paper-III.
Minimum threshold (cut-off) marks for the Trade Test and Paper-I will be decided by the Selection Committee and notified on the CSIR-NEERI website before the written exam.
CSIR-NEERI Written Exam Pattern 2026
The examination will be OMR-based or computer-based, objective type with multiple choice questions. Questions will be set in both English and Hindi, except for the English Language section. The standard of the exam is Graduation level for Technical Assistant and Post-Graduation/B.Tech level for Technical Officer.

Tie-Breaking Criteria
If two or more candidates secure equal aggregate marks in the written examination (excluding the qualifying paper), merit will be decided in the following order of precedence until the tie is resolved:
- Higher marks in the concerned subject/trade paper
- Lesser negative marks in the concerned subject/trade paper
- Lesser negative marks in the papers considered for preparation of merit
- Date of birth, with the older candidate placed higher
- Candidate acquiring the essential degree earlier placed higher
- Alphabetical order of first names
Common Mistakes to Avoid While Filling the CSIR-NEERI Online Form 2026
- Entering a name or date of birth different from the 10th certificate
- Not uploading the Gazette Notification/Affidavit when the name has changed after matriculation or marriage
- Uploading mark sheets of only some semesters instead of all semesters
- Forgetting to upload the CGPA-to-percentage conversion formula
- Submitting an OBC certificate in the State format instead of the Central Government format
- Submitting an OBC (NCL) certificate without the Form of Declaration (Proforma I-A)

Who Can Apply for CSIR-NEERI Technical Assistant & Technical Officer Posts?
Before applying, candidates must satisfy themselves that they meet every condition laid down in the notification, since enquiries related to eligibility will not be entertained.
Nationality – The applicant must be a citizen of India.
Educational Qualification – The prescribed qualification is the minimum and must be in the discipline/subject mentioned against each post code. Degrees must be from a university/institution/board recognised by the Government of India, and the final result must be declared on or before 15 October 2026.
Experience – For TA-01, one year of experience in Science Communication is essential. Experience rendered on a part-time, daily wage, visiting or guest faculty basis will not be counted. Experience is counted only after the date of acquiring the minimum essential qualification.
Age Limit – Minimum 18 years for both posts; maximum 28 years for Technical Assistant and 30 years for Technical Officer as on the closing date, with relaxation as per Government of India rules.
Employed Candidates – Those working as regular employees in CSIR, Government departments, autonomous bodies, universities or PSUs must upload either an NOC from their employer (Proforma VI) or proof of intimation to the employer along with the online application. The NOC must be produced at the time of the written examination.
CSIR-NEERI Job Profile and Pay Scale
Technical Assistant (Pay Level 6 – approx. Rs. 69,480/- per month) To work in science dissemination/policy and project management, or perform any other task specified by the Competent Authority in line with the institute’s mandate.
Technical Officer (Pay Level 7 – approx. Rs. 86,580/- per month) To work in institutional scientific facilities, laboratories, sites or field assignments. For TO-08 (MBA), the role covers the institute’s marketing, business development, IPR and business analytics work.
The emoluments shown are approximate totals on the minimum of the scale, inclusive of Basic Pay, DA, HRA and TA as admissible at Nagpur headquarters. In the case of posting at a Regional Centre, TA/HRA will be enhanced as per the entitled rate of that city.
Other Benefits – Reimbursement of medical expenses, Leave Travel Concession, Children’s Education Allowance, CSIR residential accommodation subject to availability, coverage under the National Pension System, and career advancement under the Assessment Promotion Scheme for Technical Staff.
Probation – Selected candidates will be on probation for one year from the date of joining, and cannot apply for appointment elsewhere during this period.
