Essential Qualifications As on 05.10.2026 – Last Date of Application:
1. For Senior Personal Assistant:
- Graduate from a recognised University
- Having speed of not less than 110 w.p.m. in Shorthand (English) and 40 w.p.m. in Typewriting (English) on Computer
- Good working knowledge of Computer
- Only such candidates who possess essential qualifications as on last date of submission need to apply.
2. For Personal Assistant:
- Graduate from a recognised University
- Having speed of not less than 100 w.p.m. in Shorthand (English) and 40 w.p.m. in Typewriting (English) on Computer

- Applicant age should not be below 18 years and over 32 years as on 01.01.2026.

Delhi High Court SPA PA Selection Process & Exam Pattern 2026
For Senior Personal Assistant – 4 Stages:
Stage-I (Qualifying Stage) – English Typing Test:
- Typing Test of 10 minutes duration on computers
- Minimum speed 40 w.p.m. in English Typing
- Criterion of characters with space for calculating speed
- Total mistakes permissible – 3% of total words typed
- Only qualified candidates of Stage-I will be called for Stage-II
Stage-II – English Shorthand Tests – Total 120 Marks – 110 w.p.m.:
- Passage of 550 words dictated in 5 minutes
- 45 minutes for Transcription on computers – No extra time for reading
- Mistakes permissible – 5% of total words dictated i.e. 27.5 mistakes
- Marking: 4 marks deducted for 1 full mistake, 2 marks deducted for half mistake. Candidates committing 27.5 mistakes will get 10 marks. More than 27.5 mistakes = Disqualified
- Two dictation transcription tests – Best of two considered
- Only qualified candidates called for Stage-III
Stage-III – Main (Descriptive) Examination – Total 100 Marks – 120 Minutes:
- Essay (250 words) – 40 Marks, Letter Writing – 15 Marks, Grammar & Comprehension Passage – 25 Marks, Translation Hindi to English 10 Marks & English to Hindi 10 Marks
- Minimum passing marks – General 50% (50/100), Reserved including PwBD 45% (45/100)
- Only qualified candidates called for Stage-IV Interview
Stage-IV – Interview – Total 15 Marks – No minimum qualifying marks
Final Merit: Marks of Stage-II (Shorthand) + Stage-III (Main Descriptive) + Stage-IV (Interview) added. Stage-I Typing is qualifying only.
