WBPSC Clerkship 2026 Preparation Tips

  • Start with Madhyamik books. The exam is at Class 10 level, so school History, Geography, Science and Maths books cover most of it.
  • Focus on General Studies. At 40 marks it is the biggest Part-I section. Read a newspaper daily and revise current affairs every week.
  • Master the 12 Arithmetic topics. The syllabus is short and fixed, so practise until you can solve each type in under a minute.
  • Build English accuracy. Revise grammar, learn new words daily, and practise synonyms and antonyms.
  • Practise Part-II writing under time. Every week, write one report, one précis and one translation in each language within the time limit.
  • Solve previous years' papers to understand the question style and difficulty.
  • Learn typing early, alongside your written exam preparation.

Tip: Part-II gives you just 60 minutes for two 50-mark groups, so speed and clear handwriting matter as much as content. Practise timed writing before the exam.
