Preparation Tips for NICL AO 2026

You have about five weeks before Phase I on November 17. A few points to focus on:

  • Clear every section in Phase I: you need passing marks in English, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude separately, so do not neglect any one of them.
  • Watch your accuracy: with a 1/4 penalty for wrong answers, do not guess blindly.
  • Practise sectional timing: each section is separately timed, so you cannot carry time from one section to another.
  • Prepare for the Main exam in advance: General Awareness (with insurance and economy topics) and Computer Knowledge are added in Phase II.
  • Practise typing: the Descriptive Test (essay, prΓ©cis and comprehension) is typed on the computer.
  • Specialist candidates: revise the core subject of your discipline, as it has 50 marks in the Main exam.
