Horizontal reservation: 49 for Ex-Servicemen, 28 for Locomotor Disability (LD), 11 for Hearing Impaired (HI) and 1 backlog LD post. The notice does not mention women reservation.

Note: You can apply to only one RRB. Applying to more than one leads to rejection of all applications and a ban from future exams.

RRB Paramedical Application Fee

The fee is payable online through Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card or UPI, till October 16, 2026.

Note: Refunds go only to the Aadhaar-seeded bank account given in the form, after bank charges. EBC (annual family income below Rs. 50,000) gets only a fee concession, not reservation. You need a valid EBC certificate, BPL card or Izzat MST issued on or before October 14, 2026.

RRB Paramedical Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries. The latter groups need a Certificate of Eligibility.

Educational qualification (as on October 14, 2026)

Important points:

• You must already hold the qualification by October 14, 2026. Candidates waiting for results cannot apply.
• Medical standard: B-1, C-1 or C-2, depending on the post. B-1 also needs colour, binocular, night and mesopic vision tests.
• If you are medically unfit for your chosen post, you will not be offered another one.

RRB Paramedical Age Limit and Relaxation

The age limit depends on the post and is counted as on January 1, 2027. For example, Lab Assistant Gr. II and ECG Technician are 18–33 years, and Nursing Superintendent is 20–40 years. These are the date-of-birth limits for each age group:

Relaxations do not add up; only the highest one applies. SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates applying for UR vacancies get no relaxation.

RRB Paramedical Salary and Benefits

• Allowances: DA, HRA, transport allowance and other allowances under the 7th CPC
• Transfer: requests to another railway are not registered until you complete 5 to 10 years of service

RRB Paramedical Selection Process

1. CBT: a single-stage computer based test. You must score at least the minimum qualifying marks for your category.
2. Document Verification: candidates are called in a 1:1 ratio to vacancies for each RRB. Bring originals and two sets of self-attested copies.
3. Medical Examination: by Railway Medical Authorities, with a one-time appeal option on payment.

• Marks are normalised if the CBT is held in more than one shift.
• Tie-break: the older candidate ranks higher. If ages are equal, alphabetical order of the given name decides.

RRB Paramedical Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Online objective CBT of 100 marks and 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates eligible for a scribe).

Negative marking

There is a penalty of one-third (1/3) of a mark for every wrong answer.

Minimum qualifying marks

For PwBD candidates, these can be relaxed by 2 marks if reserved vacancies are left unfilled.

How to Apply for RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026

Apply online only at rrbapply.gov.in between September 15 and October 14, 2026. If you don't have internet access, you can apply from any Common Services Centre (CSC).

Keep these ready before you start:

• Your Class 10 certificate (name, parents' names and date of birth must match it exactly)
• DigiLocker or Aadhaar for identity verification
• A webcam or phone camera for the live photo
• A scanned signature and, for SC/ST travel pass, your certificate
• An Aadhaar-seeded bank account for the fee refund

Steps:

1. Go to the RRB apply portal and Create an Account. If you made one for an earlier RRB CEN (2024/2025/2026), log in with it.
2. Enter your name, parents' names and date of birth exactly as on your Class 10 certificate. The account details, mobile and email can never be changed later.
3. Verify your identity through DigiLocker or Aadhaar.
4. Choose one RRB and set your post and zone preferences.
5. Take a live photo and upload your signature as per the specifications below.
6. SC/ST candidates who want the free travel pass should upload their certificate.
7. Pay the fee online and wait for the confirmation email and SMS.

Important: Corrections are allowed from October 17 to 26 at Rs. 250 per change, but your account details and chosen RRB cannot be changed.
