Eligibility Criteria for SBI Apprentice 2026
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Graduation degree from a recognized University or Institute as on April 1, 2026.
Age Limit (as on April 1, 2026)
- Minimum Age: 20 years
- Maximum Age: 28 years
- Candidates must have been born not earlier than April 2, 1998 and not later than April 1, 2006 (both days inclusive).
- Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates as per Government of India guidelines.
Important Eligibility Conditions
- Candidates must NOT have previously undergone or currently be pursuing an apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961, in SBI or any other organisation.
- Candidates who have one year or more of training or job experience after attaining their educational qualification are NOT eligible.
- Ex-Servicemen are NOT eligible for this apprenticeship programme.
Stipend and Benefits
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹15,000 throughout the one-year training period. No other allowances or benefits are provided. This is a training engagement, not a regular or contract employment.
Selection Process
The SBI Apprentice 2026 selection involves two stages:

2. Test of Local Language
Candidates applying for a particular state must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in the specified local language of that state. This test is conducted after qualifying the online written examination. Candidates who have studied the specified local language at the 10th or 12th standard level are exempt from this test.
3. Medical Examination
Final engagement is subject to candidates being declared medically fit as per the bank's requirements.
