WBPSC IDO Age Limit and Relaxation

WBPSC IDO Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The selection has two parts. Part I is a written exam with 100 MCQs of 1 mark each in 1 hour 30 minutes, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer. Part II is an interview of 15 marks. The table below gives the subject-wise marks of the written exam.

WBPSC IDO Selection and Qualifying Marks
The final merit list is made on the total of Part I and Part II out of 115 marks. There is no qualifying mark in the interview, but there are category-wise qualifying marks in the aggregate, as shown below. The Commission can also fix cut-off marks in the written exam, and can relax the qualifying marks if many reserved posts remain unfilled.

- If two or more candidates get equal aggregate marks, the older candidate by date of birth gets preference.
- PwBD candidates with limitation in writing can take a scribe and get 20 minutes extra per hour, with the Appendix-I certificate from a Chief Medical Officer or Medical Superintendent of a Government health care institution.
- Candidates must bring one original photo ID to the exam venue. Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices and smart watches are not allowed.

The application is online only, on the WBPSC website. Applying more than once for the same post is not allowed, and it leads to cancellation of your candidature. Follow the steps below.
