Constable (Civil) is a district cadre post, and the district-wise vacancy is given in Annexure-A of the official advertisement. Constable OISF is a battalion cadre post (Annexure-B). There is also 10% reservation for Home Guards and Group-D employees in some posts, as per the advertisement.

Age relaxation: 5 years for SC, ST, SEBC and women of all categories; 3 years for Ex-Agniveers; Ex-Servicemen get relaxation equal to their defence service. Only one relaxation (the most beneficial) is allowed.
General Eligibility: Odia Language and Other Conditions
- Must be a citizen of India and of good moral character.
- Must be able to speak, read and write Odia, and must have passed ME School exam with Odia, or HSC with Odia as medium, or Class VII (or above) with Odia as a language, or an Odia test of ME School standard by BSE Odisha.
- Reservation for SC, ST and SEBC is only for candidates of Odisha. OBC and EWS certificates are not accepted in place of SEBC.
- Constable (Civil) candidates must be registered in the Employment Exchange of the district they apply for, before final submission.
- Women and transgender candidates can apply for all posts except Firefighter, Firefighting Driver and Driver PMT.
- Persons with disability (PwD) are not eligible for these posts.
Odisha Police Constable Physical Standards 2026
The Odisha Police Constable physical standards 2026 are different for UR / SEBC and SC / ST candidates. Candidates around 7 times the vacancies (category-wise) will be called for PM and PET based on written exam merit. The minimum standards are given below.

Group-D employees get relaxation of 3 cm in height, 5 kg in weight and 2 cm in chest for Constable (Civil), Constable (Communication) and Driver PMT. Candidates must not have knock knee, bow legs, flat foot, varicose veins, squint eyes, poor vision, colour blindness, or speech / hearing problems.

OUSSSC Selection Process and Merit
- Stage I: Written exam.
- Stage II: Physical Measurement (PM) and PET (qualifying); driving test for Constable (Civil), Constable OISF, Driver PMT and Firefighting Driver.
- Stage III: Medical exam by the District Medical Board.
- Stage IV: Document verification.
Bonus marks: Driving test: 3 marks for LMV and 5 marks for HMV licence holders who qualify (Constable Civil / OISF / Driver PMT / Firefighting Driver). NCC: 1 (A certificate), 2 (B) or 3 (C).
The merit list is made from the written exam marks plus driving and NCC marks (and the special paper where applicable). There is no waiting list. In a tie, the older candidate gets priority, then the one with fewer negative marks.
