Where First Class/Division is not mentioned in the certificate, candidates must have at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% marks in aggregate.

NIT Agartala Non-Teaching Selection Process
As these are Group B and Group C posts, no interview is held, as per DoPT OM No. F.No.39020/01/2013-Estt.(B)-Part dated 29 December 2015.
- Computer Based Test (CBT): the only written stage. The final merit list is prepared only on CBT marks, subject to passing a skill test wherever applicable.
- Document verification: shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates with self-attested photocopies.
- Medical examination: before the District Medical Board, followed by police verification.
- If CBT marks are tied, the candidate with higher Part I (general section) marks ranks higher. If still tied, the older candidate (as per Matriculation certificate) ranks higher. Any remaining tie is decided by the Institute.
- Admit cards are issued on the basis of information in the application, without checking eligibility. Candidature can be rejected later if you are found ineligible.
- Carry at least one original photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, Driving Licence or Passport) to the exam centre.
- Possession of a mobile phone or any electronic gadget at the exam centre, even switched off, leads to cancellation of candidature.
- Selected candidates will be on probation for one year.

- General Knowledge: India and neighbouring countries, inventions, books and authors, science, political science, national and international news, Indian culture, geography, economy, world organisations, historical places, art and literature.
- Current Affairs: Budget, history, abbreviations, organisations, environment, Indian economy, awards, general science, geography.
- General Mental Ability: Logical perception, understanding and conclusion-based questions.
- Numerical Ability: Madhyamik/Matric level compulsory Mathematics.
Part II, Junior Engineer (Civil): Building Materials, Solid Mechanics, Structural Analysis, Design of Steel Structures, Design of Concrete and Masonry Structures, Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Hydrology and Water Resources, Environmental and Water Supply Engineering, Surveying (including GPS and remote sensing), Construction Practice, Planning and Management.
