The IBPS eligibility for each post includes a degree plus post-qualification work experience. Degrees through correspondence, distance or open university are not accepted. The details are given below.

- Server Administrator: skills in server virtualisation (Nutanix / VMware), MPLS and leased lines, firewall and WAF management, endpoint security, Active Directory, MS SQL or MySQL, and SAN administration are an added advantage. Certification in these areas gets weightage.
- Assistant: Excel skills expected include VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, nested formulas, Pivot Tables, data validation, conditional formatting and basic automation (Power Query / Macros preferred). Experience in banking, examination bodies or government organisations is preferred.
- Programming Assistant: a certificate course in computer programming and experience in FORTRAN / Python are an added advantage.
- Candidates working in government offices, PSUs or nationalised banks must bring a No Objection Certificate from their employer.
IBPS Server Administrator and Assistant Exam Pattern 2026
The IBPS exam pattern has 100 questions and 100 marks for each post, with a composite time of 90 minutes. The exam is in English only and will be held online at IBPS, Mumbai. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

IBPS Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
- Scrutiny and shortlisting of applications (preference to candidates residing in Mumbai).
- Document verification at IBPS, Mumbai.
- Online examination (minimum score required in each test).
- Personal interview on the same day or the next day.
- Final selection by a committee, followed by medical fitness and police verification.
The selection process will be held at IBPS House, 90 Ft DP Road, Kandivali (East), Mumbai 400101. Candidates must travel at their own expense.
