Delhi University PG Admissions 2026: Delhi University has officially launched its postgraduate admissions process for the 2026–27 academic session, activating the Common Seat Allocation System for Postgraduates (CSAS-PG) portal on May 16, 2026. If you are planning to pursue a two-year Master's programme at Delhi University, here is everything you need to know — from eligibility and application steps to fees and deadlines.

Delhi University PG Admissions 2026: CSAS-PG Portal Opens with DigiLocker Integration

What is CSAS-PG and Why Does It Matter?

The CSAS-PG portal is the official platform through which Delhi University allocates seats across its departments and affiliated colleges for postgraduate programmes. All admissions to two-year Master's programmes in the 2026–27 session will be based exclusively on CUET-PG 2026 scores. There is no separate entrance exam conducted by the university itself.

Candidates must ensure they appeared in the correct CUET-PG paper code corresponding to their chosen programme. A mismatch in paper codes can make an application ineligible, so double-checking this before registering on the portal is essential.

DigiLocker Integration: A Major Change This Year

One of the most significant updates in this admission cycle is the integration of the CSAS-PG portal with DigiLocker and API Setu. This means applicants will no longer need to manually upload several common documents during registration. The portal will automatically fetch verified records from DigiLocker, including:

  • Mark sheets from qualifying examinations
  • Date of birth certificates
  • Parents' details

This automated verification system is designed to reduce paperwork errors, prevent submission of fraudulent documents, and make the overall process faster and more transparent. It is a meaningful step forward in digitising higher education admissions at one of India's largest universities.

One-Year and Two-Year PG Programmes Under NEP 2020

In line with the National Education Policy 2020, Delhi University is offering two distinct tracks for postgraduate study from this session:

Two-Year Master's Programmes are open to students currently in the third or fourth year of their undergraduate studies, as well as those who have already completed a three-year degree.

One-Year Master's Programmes are available to candidates who have completed a four-year undergraduate Honours degree with a Research or Entrepreneurship specialisation from the University of Delhi. Admissions for these one-year programmes will be announced separately through a different portal at a later date.

The Bulletin of Information covering two-year PG programmes, published on December 23, 2025, lists programmes across faculties including Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Mathematical Sciences, Commerce, Education, Law, Music, and several interdisciplinary fields.

Application Fee Structure

The fee to apply per programme is as follows:

  • UR, OBC-NCL, and EWS candidates: ₹250 per programme
  • SC, ST, and PwBD candidates: ₹100 per programme

Delhi University has introduced a mid-entry facility for candidates who are unable to apply before June 7. Such applicants can still participate during counselling and spot admission rounds by paying a non-refundable late fee of ₹1,000. This provides a second opportunity for students who may have missed the regular window.

Minimum Eligibility at a Glance

For most two-year PG programmes, the minimum eligibility is: UR / OBC-NCL / EWS: 50% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade) in the qualifying degree
SC / ST / PwBD: 45% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade)

Programmes governed by regulatory bodies such as MCI, BCI, NCTE, or DCI may have different eligibility requirements, so candidates should verify the programme-specific criteria in the official Bulletin of Information.

Reservation of Seats

Delhi University follows central government reservation norms. The seat distribution is: 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates (interchangeable if needed), 27% for OBC-NCL, and 10% for EWS. Supernumerary seats are also available under categories including PwBD (5%), CW (5%), Kashmiri Migrants, Single Girl Child, Sports, Orphans, and Ward Quota of University employees — all requiring valid certificates uploaded through the CSAS-PG portal.
