The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), Lucknow has released the notification for the Veterinary Pharmacist Main Examination (PET-2025)/18, inviting online applications from Indian citizens for a total of 1308 vacancies of Veterinary Pharmacist under the Directorate of Animal Husbandry (Pashupalan Nideshalay).
Only those candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025 (PET-2025) and hold a valid PET score card are eligible to apply for this Main Examination. Shortlisting for the Main Exam will be done based on the normalized PET-2025 score, in merit order.

UPSSSC Veterinary Pharmacist Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification (Educational): As per Part-4, Rule-8 of the UP Animal Husbandry Department Veterinary Pharmacist Service Rules, 2025, a candidate must possess:
- High School and Intermediate (Biology) from the UP Board of High School and Intermediate Education, or an equivalent examination recognized by the government.
- A 2-year 3-month Diploma in Veterinary Pharmacy from a university/institution established by law in India.
- Registration with the competent council or institution (if available).
Note: As per the letter of the Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry Section-3, dated 20-05-2026, since the Veterinary Pharmacy Council does not currently exist in Uttar Pradesh, registration is presently not required.
- Knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script.
Preferential Qualification: In case of otherwise equal candidates, preference will be given to those who have:
- Served a minimum of two years in the Territorial Army, or
- Obtained a ‘B’ Certificate from the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
Age Limit
As per Rule-10 of the UP Animal Husbandry Department Veterinary Pharmacist Service Rules, 2025, a candidate must have completed 18 years of age and must not have exceeded 40 years of age as on 1st July of the calendar year in which the vacancies for direct recruitment are advertised. Higher upper age limits are applicable for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other categories as notified by the government from time to time.
UPSSSC Veterinary Pharmacist Selection Process
Selection to the post of Veterinary Pharmacist will be made on the basis of a Written (Main) Examination only, conducted as per the UP Subordinate Services Selection Commission’s applicable recruitment rules and the two-tier examination system (under which only candidates who qualified in the Commission’s Preliminary Eligibility Test are eligible to apply for the Main Examination).

How to Apply for UPSSSC Veterinary Pharmacist Recruitment 2026
Applications must be submitted online only, through the official UPSSSC website. No other mode of application will be accepted.
Step 1 — Download Advertisement: Visit upsssc.gov.in, go to the “Live Advertisement Segment” on the homepage, and download/view the relevant advertisement.
Step 2 — Login via PET Registration Number: Log in using your PET-2025 registration number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number/email.
Step 3 — Application Details: Personal information recorded during PET-2025 (name, father’s/husband’s name, mother’s name, UP domicile status, category, EWS status, horizontal reservation details, date of birth, gender, marital status, contact number, email, etc.) will be auto-displayed.
Step 4 — Fill Educational Qualification Details: Enter details related to the mandatory educational qualification specified in the advertisement, selecting Yes/No for whether you hold it, along with board/institution/university name, year of passing, certificate/roll number, and marks.
Step 5 — Photo and Signature: Your photo and signature uploaded at the time of PET-2025 will be auto-displayed and cannot be modified.
Step 6 — Other Details & Declaration: Fill in preferential qualification details (if any) and confirm the declaration by ticking all checkboxes and entering the verification code.
Step 7 — Fee Payment: Pay the requisite fee via Credit Card/Debit Card/Internet Banking/UPI or SBI e-Challan. On successful payment, the application form will be auto-submitted.
Step 8 — Download & Print: Download and print your final submitted application form for future reference.
