POWERGRID Apprentice Age Limit, Vacancy Details, and Qualification

Age Limit: Candidates must have completed 18 years of age at the time of application. There is no upper age limit specified, but candidates must not have more than 1 year of job experience, must not be currently undergoing or have previously undergone any apprenticeship training, and must not be awaiting their final examination result.

An additional Rs. 2,500 per month is paid in case company accommodation is not provided.

The selection process for POWERGRID Apprentice Recruitment 2026 involves the following stages:

1. Applications are screened in merit order based on eligibility criteria, prescribed qualification, and the number of training slots notified for the respective trade and region.
2. Candidates are called for document verification in a ratio of 1:5 with respect to the training slots available, communicated via registered email. No TA/DA is paid for this process.
3. A merit list is prepared based on candidates found suitable during document verification.
4. Selected candidates are engaged in merit order upon accepting a tri-partite apprenticeship contract on the NATS/NAPS website, along with submission of a medical certificate and police verification.
5. There is no written examination or interview — selection is purely merit-based on eligibility and document verification.
