Selection Process
The selection process for NIC STA Recruitment 2026 includes the following stages:
- Merit List Preparation based on category-wise GATE Score (2024/2025/2026) for each discipline — equal weightage given to all three years.
- Document Verification of shortlisted candidates as per available vacancies, to be conducted at Delhi or another approved location.
- Provisional Appointment, subject to fulfilment of all eligibility criteria.
Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case of a tie in GATE Score, preference is given first to the older GATE year, then to the older candidate by age, and finally to the candidate with a higher percentage in the essential qualification.
