Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed PUC (Pre-University Course/12th standard) or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.

Age Limit: Candidates must have completed a minimum of 18 years of age as on the last date for receipt of applications. The maximum age limit, after factoring in the one-time relaxation of 5 years granted vide Government Order No. SiAaSuI 262 SevaNe 2025 dated 29.01.2026, is as follows:

KSP Armed Police Constable Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection to the post of Sashastra Police Constable (CAR/DAR) will be made through the following stages:

Stage 1: Written Examination

The written examination will be conducted in offline OMR mode and will carry 100 objective-type questions for 100 marks, to be completed within 90 minutes (1½ hours). There is a negative marking of 0.25 mark for every wrong answer.

Stage 2: Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Candidates are shortlisted for PST and PET in the ratio of 1:5 (category-wise) based on their performance in the written examination. Both tests are qualifying in nature.

Stage 3: Shortlisting for Document Verification and Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify the PST and PET are further shortlisted in the ratio of 1:2 against notified vacancies (category-wise), based on written examination marks, for document verification and medical examination.

Stage 4: Medical Examination

A Medical Board constituted by the recruiting authority examines candidates for vision, hearing and other physical/medical standards before final selection.

Stage 5: Final Selection List

The final list is prepared based on the candidate's performance in the written examination, subject to qualifying the PST, PET, document verification and medical examination.

KSP Armed Police Constable 2026 Medical Standards

Candidates who qualify the PST and PET undergo a medical examination conducted by a Medical Board. Key medical standards include:

  • Vision: Minimum 6/9 in both eyes (distant vision) or 6/9 and 6/12; near vision 0/6 or 0/8 in both eyes; full field of vision in each eye required.
  • Hearing: Candidates undergo Rinne's Test, Weber's Test and tests for Vertigo.
  • Disqualifying conditions include varicose veins, speech impediment, and musculoskeletal deformities such as knock knees, flat foot, bow legs, cubitus valgus and cubitus varus.
  • A chest X-ray and any other test suggested by the Medical Board may also be conducted.
