SSB Odisha Librarian Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed a Bachelor Degree in Library Science or an equivalent degree from a recognized institution to be eligible for this recruitment.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

The minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 42 years. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 1st January 1984 and not later than 1st January 2005.

Age Relaxation:

SC/ST/SEBC/Women/Ex-Servicemen: 5 years PwD (with 40% or more permanent disability): 10 years PwD belonging to SEBC/SC/ST: 15 years (cumulative)

Other Eligibility Conditions

The candidate must be a citizen of India and a domicile of Odisha. He/She must be able to speak, read, and write Odia and must have passed Odia as a language subject at HSC level or equivalent. Government servants who meet the qualification and age criteria are also eligible, provided they submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer before document verification.

SSB Odisha Librarian Selection Process 2026

Selection will be made through a Competitive Written Examination only. There is no interview or personality test stage.

The exam will be a written test of 150 marks consisting of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each correct answer carries 1.5 marks and 0.5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The duration of the examination is two hours. Questions will be based on the syllabus available on the SSB website and must be answered on carbonless OMR sheets. Qualifying marks are 40% for UR candidates and 30% for SC/ST/SEBC and PwD candidates. In case of a tie, the aggregate percentage in Graduation will be considered; if still tied, the older candidate will be given preference.

SC/ST and PwD candidates: ₹200/- All other categories (General/SEBC/OBC/Others): ₹500/-
