Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking under the Government of India, has released an official notification for a Special Recruitment Drive for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). This recruitment is exclusively for eligible PwBD candidates from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

A total of 49 posts are available across Grade III and Grade VII at OIL's Field Headquarters, Duliajan, Assam. Online applications are open from 8 May 2026 and the last date to apply is 8 June 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (as on 08 June 2026)

Post 1 to 4 – Junior Technician (Electronics Mechanic / Fitter / Instrument Mechanic / Surveyor):

  • Passed Class 10 from a Government Recognized Board
  • Trade Certificate in the relevant trade issued by NCVT / SCVT

Post 5 – Junior Office Assistant:

  • Passed 10+2 in any stream from a Government Recognized Board/University
  • Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application of minimum 6 months duration
  • Must be conversant with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

Post 6 – Junior Engineer (Electrical):

  • Passed Class 10 from a Government Recognized Board
  • 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Valid Electrical Supervisor's Certificate of Competency (minimum Parts 1, 2, 3 & 4) issued by Electrical Licensing Board, Government of Assam

Concessions and Relaxations

  • No application fee – All PwBD candidates are fully exempted
  • Travel reimbursement – 2nd class Rail/Bus fare (shortest route) will be reimbursed to candidates appearing in the CBT on production of proof
  • Scribe facility – Available for eligible PwBD candidates on production of a certificate from the Competent Medical Authority

Selection Process – OIL PwBD Recruitment 2026

The selection will be conducted in two stages:

Stage 1 – Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • Total Marks: 100
  • Qualifying Marks: 40
  • Duration: 2 hours 40 minutes (includes 40 minutes compensatory time)
  • Mode: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
  • Language: Bilingual (English & Assamese)
  • No negative marking

Stage 2 – Document Verification

  • Candidates shortlisted in CBT (in 1:1 ratio) will be called for Document Verification
  • Final selection is based on CBT merit only
  • There is NO provision for a waiting list

Important Documents Required

Candidates must carry the following at the time of Document Verification:

  • Valid Employment Exchange Registration Card (from Assam or Arunachal Pradesh)
  • Class 10 Admit Card / Pass Certificate / Marksheet (proof of date of birth)
  • Educational qualification documents as per post applied
  • Valid Disability Certificate (showing 40% or more disability)
  • Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC), if applicable
  • OBC Non-Creamy Layer Certificate, if applicable
  • EWS Income & Assets Certificate, if applicable
  • Valid Discharge Certificate for Ex-Servicemen, if applicable
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) if currently employed in Government/PSU
  • Photo Pass for Work Contract Labourers, if applicable

Medical Fitness

All provisionally selected candidates must undergo a Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) at:

  • OIL Hospital, Duliajan, Assam, or
  • A Government Medical Officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon, or
  • An authorized medical officer of a hospital empaneled by OIL

Appointment will be cancelled if the candidate is found medically unfit.


Probation Period

Selected candidates will be appointed as Probationers for 12 months. Confirmation is subject to satisfactory performance. The probation period can be extended by up to 6+6 months if performance is unsatisfactory.
