Important Note on Honours / Major Classification

If a candidate's graduation mark sheet does not explicitly mention "Honours" or "Major", it will still be considered equivalent to a Major degree — provided that at least 50% of total degree marks were obtained in courses related to that specific discipline. This is an important clarification for candidates from certain universities whose degree certificates do not use these terms.

General Admission Guidelines

  • Completed Results Mandatory: All applicants must have completed and declared results for their Bachelor's and/or Master's degree (and Certificate in Library Science, if applicable) at the time of application. Applications with incomplete results will be summarily rejected.

  • Provisional Selection Risk: Even if a candidate is provisionally selected based on self-reported information, their admission will be cancelled if the Faculty Office/Department of Library and Information Science finds incomplete results during document verification.

  • Grade to Percentage Conversion: Candidates whose mark sheets show only grades (not marks) must submit an equivalent certificate or formula from their university to convert grades into percentage at the time of document verification. Failure to submit this will result in cancellation.
