This is the largest and most competitive profile in the notification, with 175 vacancies up for grabs.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Diploma in Engineering (3-year course) in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics, Civil, or Chemical Engineering. The diploma must be from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks, relaxed to 50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
It is important to note that only specific degree titles are accepted. For instance, under Electronics, only "Electronics" or "Electronics & Communication" are valid — allied or related streams not explicitly mentioned will not be considered.
Work Experience
This is where the eligibility bar gets a little specific, so read carefully. Candidates need a minimum of 5 years of continuous post-qualification relevant work experience, which must include at least 1 year in a managerial or supervisory role. Additionally, the candidate must currently be employed in a managerial or supervisory capacity at the time of application.
The work experience must be in one of the following types of organizations within India:
- POL Terminals, Depots, or Installations with storage capacity exceeding 25,000 KL
- OISD-144 compliant LPG Bottling Plants
- Cross-country POL or LPG Pipelines of at least 50 km
- Bulk LPG or POL Coastal Import Terminals
- Aviation Fueling Stations (commercial or defense)
- Petroleum Oil Refineries or Petrochemical Plants
- City Gas Distribution companies
- Retail Fueling Stations under the territory or regional office of an oil and gas company
- Fertilizer production units, power plants, or air separation units
- Automobile, metals, defense manufacturing, or engineering and capital goods industries
For candidates from the Civil Engineering discipline, experience in infrastructure and construction projects — including roads, bridges, and warehouse construction (but excluding housing complexes) — is also acceptable.
A gap of up to 3 months in the total work experience is permissible and will still be treated as continuous experience.
Age Limit
The upper age limit for General and EWS candidates is 32 years as on 1st April 2026. Age relaxation applies as follows: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, 10 years for PwBD candidates, and 5 years for Ex-servicemen. The cumulative relaxation from multiple categories cannot exceed 10 years.
BPCL Junior Executive (Accounts): Who Can Apply?
For the Accounts profile, candidates must be graduates in any discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) AND must have cleared the CA Intermediate or CMA Intermediate examination. One crucial point to note: candidates who have already cleared the final CA or CMA examination are NOT eligible to apply for this role.
A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounts, taxation, cost accounting, or auditing is required. Experience from articleship or practical training integrated into the curriculum does not count. Candidates need at least 3 years of post-qualification laboratory experience in the petroleum, oil and gas, petrochemical, or chemical industry. Desired skills include experience in NABL or ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratories and familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). The upper age limit is 35 years for General/EWS candidates.
Secretary BPCL: A Profile for Detail-Oriented Professionals
The Secretary profile requires candidates to have passed Class X, Class XII, and a Bachelor's Degree (3-year course), each with a minimum of 55% marks (relaxed to 50% for SC/ST/PwBD). A diploma or certification in secretarial practice or office management of at least 6 months is desirable but not mandatory.
Candidates must have 5 years of relevant experience as a secretary or secretarial assistant.
